Overview

This is a crash course about performing a calibration of nonlinear RC analytical column model with experimental results by full cyclic pushover analysis. Two nonlinear structural analysis softwares have been used, which are CSI Perform 3D and eSEES which is a graphical user interface (GUI) for the OpenSees frame work developed by Dr. Silvia Mazzoni.

The course is structured to the following sections:

  1. Introduction to the PEER structural database. (PEER is the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center)

  2. The Perform 3D model and its results.

  3. The eSEES model and its results.

I am a Structural engineer from Cairo, Egypt. I have 10 years' experience in the construction sector. I am nearing the end of my master's degree in structural engineering, Ain Shams University. My thesis is focused on Earthquake Engineering; Nonlinear Structural Analysis; Performance-Based Design; medium to high-rise building design.

I have completed the nonlinear modeling and analysis for all the case studies of my master's thesis using Perform 3D. Besides, I am a co-author of a journal article still under review in "Engineering Structures" Journal.

I have experience in using different structural analysis software such as ETABS, Sap2000, SP column, Perform 3D, OpenSees, Csi Safe.
