The Basics
In this first lesson, we will take things slow. You will learn how to choose the right guitar for you and what accessories are essential for any guitar player. Then, learn the parts of the guitar and how to get you comfortable with your instrument.

WEEK 2: Fundamental Guitar Skills

In this lesson, you will start to tune and play your instrument from the white stage! Remember that you need to be patient and focus on being accurate and play in consistent time with your metronome. These things are much more important than playing with speed.

WEEK 3: The Twelve Half Steps and Basic Notation
You don’t need to be an expert on music theory to play guitar. In order to make it work, you need to know the basic building blocks of music. With this understanding, music will no longer be in mystery or complexity.

WEEK 4: Construction and Fingerings In Scales
In this lesson, you will dig into scales. Most likely it wasn’t very exciting for you.

WEEK 5: Chords and Power Chords: Building Easy Triads
In this lesson, you will use all of the skills you’ve learned from the previous lessons to build the foundation of harmony. You will learn to play chords. Learn why chords sound like they do, how to build them, how to easily play chords in an open position.

WEEK 6: Putting it All Together

Now that you have all the necessary foundational knowledge of the guitar in your fingers, you can learn a couple of songs. You will learn to do this by using melody (from the scales) and harmony (from the chords) we learned. After finishing this course, you will be able to play melodies and soloing. Learn History in Bite-Size Easy Language. Your Daily Dose of History. One fact at a time.
