Laziness is a lack of enthusiasm for an activity or physical or mental effort. Despite having the ability to act or to do oneself. It is often used as terms for a person seen to be lazy include "couch potato", "slacker", and "bludger". The quality of being unwilling to work or use energy.

What is a lazy person? A person is being lazy if he is able to carry out some work and activity that he should and want to carry out, but is reluctant to do so because of the effort and time involved. Instead, he carries out the activity just as a formality, or engages in some other, less effort or less boring activity, or remains idle.

Causes of laziness:

Studies of motivation suggest that laziness may be caused by a decreased level of motivation, which in turn can be caused by distractions. This increases the release of a chemical in head, a neurotransmitter responsible for reward and pleasure. If you want yourself safe from laziness you should keep motivating yourself all the time although it is very difficult to be motivated all the time because ups and downs are the part of life but at least we should try it.

It is linked to the development of health problems like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, depression, dementia, and cancer. It can make us feel bad about ourselves, guilty and frustrated, satisfy only with the big, powerful, and mysterious reward of comfort, rest, and stress-free.

How to overcome laziness in study?

1. Focus on the lectures:

Focus on the lecturer during classes. Because when you don’t pay proper attention to a lecture there is 100% chances that you will be distracted because you will not be able to get a lecture and at the end your hands are empty. So pay attention, avoid getting distracted, and focus on lectures to overcome laziness in study.

2-Absent-mindedness

This is one of the main causes of laziness in the study. To understand what it means, are you focused on your assignment only (while doing it) or think about lots of other things as well? For example, you made up your mind to write a foremost essay. Usually, this assignment doesn’t consume more than 2-3 hours, but when you sit over the writing for more than 5 hours. You will notice that you do irrelevant things.

3. Make a to-do list 

There are times that because of so many things to do, just like preparing for major exams, you lose track of other things that need to be done. And a number of books distract and take you off track to how to manage it so  You should make a to-do list with just a piece of sticky note on your table and some other place where you after an hour or it’s handy and you could place it anywhere. Every time it will help you remember what to do next. This is the best tip to avoid laziness in study.

4-Avoid playing with stationary:

Playing with rubber and pencil and some other gadgets are mostly noticed mistakes which students and learners do because they are thinking something other than what they were to think. You should avoid it because when you play with stationary during study it makes you bound with distraction and leads to laziness. So keep yourself away to it to overcome laziness in study.

5-chat in messengers: 

This is the next big common mistake which people make because they use mobile phones during study which they should avoid during study. They don't know the side effect of using the Internet. They use messenger and social media apps to chat with their boyfriend and girlfriend during study which leads to distraction and laziness. So avoid using messengers and other chat apps to overcome laziness in study.

6-Youtube:

Watching You-tube videos all day is also a big sign of laziness. People are addicted to watching songs and other videos, games videos, and other stuff videos. Using You-tube for more than 5 hours is also an addiction that made people lazy. To overcome laziness in study avoid using You-tube during study.

7-Talk with your room-mates:

During learning do not talk with your room-mates on off topics that are not related to studies. You discuss with your friends about boys and girls and on other trending topics and on some gossip, upcoming movies and all that. It is an over relaxation and also called laziness. To overcome laziness in study avoid talking with your classmates.

8-. Be in a comfortable place.

One thing that could help battle sluggishness is finding a decent area. Being in an agreeable spot whether it's in your preferred café, or park, or just in your own bedroom and your guest room that is free from distractions could help you to relax your mind and focus on studying.

9- Discipline yourself 

The key to avoid Laziness is to discipline yourself it leads to the prominence of livelihood and beats the obstacles in way of your success. It helps you to understand the time worth. So as to accomplish something effectively, you should need to stop certain propensities or practices. As with studying, you must stop certain things that distract you and lose your attention and start doing things that could contribute to accomplishing good results

10-Reward yourself:

Overcoming laziness is really an effort, so every time you have to reward yourself a reward. It is if you study constantly for 20 minutes without wasting your time, give yourself a chocolate as a reward, whether it is your favorite bar of chocolate or favorite ice cream. This will help you build a mindset that making efforts results in a positive outcome. This is the best tip to overcome laziness in the study.
